Essential Criteria
It is essential that the successful candidate meets the following requirements:
• A degree‑level qualification in Quantity Surveying or a closely related discipline.
• A minimum of 5 years' post‑qualification experience working in a construction or civil engineering environment with proven experience delivering Quantity Surveying services across multiple projects or work programmes within a construction‑related environment
• Demonstrable experience working with the New Engineering Contract (NEC) suite of contracts, including active involvement in cost management, compensation events, and contract administration.
• Proven ability to apply standard methods of measurement, including Civil Engineering Standard Method of Measurement (CESMM) and/or Standard Method of Measurement (SMM), in the preparation of estimates, valuations, and final accounts.
• Clear understanding of Health and Safety legislation, with demonstrable experience of working in accordance with the Construction, Design and Management (CDM) Regulations
• Proven ability to positively influence safety behaviours and embed a strong safety culture within project and commercial decision‑making
• Demonstrable experience producing clear, accurate, and concise commercial reports, capable of translating complex financial information for diverse audiences
• Strong IT capability with advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, for financial analysis and reporting
